CERTIFICATION

OAA has approved since 2003 its own organic standards based on IFOAM and European Commission regulations for organic production and marketing. Based on such standards are certified more than 30 farmers. The first farmers are certified just in 2003.

After the approval of the law for organic production in Albania in 2004, OAA set up its strategy to keep the right for certification, trusting the inspection to a structure of  ICEA consortium in its center in Tirana. This consortium will perform primarily  the inspection and certification for organic production based on the standards of EC, but also specific standards of US, Japan etc. OAA will facilitate ICEA procedures in Albania and other Albanian speaking parts of the region.
